How this was calculated
Slab/Footing: Volume = length x width x depth. Depth entered in inches, converted to feet.
Column: Volume = pi x (d/2)^2 x height (diameter in inches, height in feet).
Bags: 80-lb bag = 0.6 cu ft. 60-lb bag = 0.45 cu ft. Rounded up.
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet.

Always order 5-10% extra concrete to account for uneven subgrade, spillage, and form irregularities. For large pours, a ready-mix truck (typically 10 cubic yards) is more economical than bags. For small projects under 1 cubic yard, bagged concrete is practical.
Standard concrete (4,000 PSI) is suitable for most residential slabs and footings. High-strength mixes (5,000-6,000 PSI) are used for structural elements and heavy equipment pads.
