How this was calculated

Treating temp: Empirical: T_treat = 200 - 2 x API (heavier oils need more heat). Minimum 120F.

Chemical dose: Base 15-40 ppm depending on API gravity. Heavier oil = higher dose.

Stokes settling: v = (d^2 x (rho_w - rho_o) x g) / (18 x mu_o). Uses 200 micron droplet size.

Heater duty: Q = m x Cp x dT. Cp ~ 0.5 BTU/lb-F for oil, 1.0 for water.
