Formula

Q = m × Cp × ΔT, where Q is heat duty (BTU/hr), m is mass flow rate (lb/hr), Cp is specific heat capacity (BTU/lb-°F), and ΔT is the temperature difference between inlet and outlet (°F). Common in oilfield process facility design for production heaters, line heaters, and glycol reboilers.
