How this was calculated
Barrel OD: Typically 2 NPS sizes larger than mainline (ASME B31.4 practice).
Barrel length: 1.5 x (pig count x pig length) + 3 ft for closure + 2 ft for reducer, converted to feet.
Kicker line: Typically 1/3 to 1/2 of mainline diameter. Minimum 2" NPS.
Closure force: MAOP x barrel area (pi/4 x OD^2). This is the force the closure must contain.
Pig velocity: For liquid: flow_BPD x 5.615 / (86400 x pipe_area_ft2). Target 3-5 ft/s for cleaning pigs.
