Method

Stokes' Law: V_s = g × d_p² × (rho_w - rho_o) / (18 × mu). Settling velocity of water droplets in oil.

Settling time = Settling height / V_s. Retention time = Tank volume / flow rate.

Adequate when retention time > settling time (safety factor of 1.5 recommended).
